Care Plan

At John Harwood Optometrists, we pride ourselves on our clinical excellence. You can be confident that you will be treated with nothing but the highest standard of care to ensure that your eyes remain healthy.

This is why we have decided to change the way in which we price our contact lenses. We feel that you should pay for the service and care that you receive rather than the product that you purchase. To reflect this, we have introduced Care Plan. With Care Plan, you pay for the professional service that you receive, enabling your contact lenses and solutions to be discounted.

For your convenience,  Care Plan is provided by Direct Debit. This spreads the cost of your contact lenses into smaller monthly payments and, if you prefer, you can have your contact lenses and solutions delivered directly to your home or office on a quarterly basis. Payments under Care Plan are covered by the Direct Debit guarantee offered by all Banks.

As a valued member, you will receive regular full Eye Examinations, an Annual Contact Lens Consultation, and any interim or emergency appointments without additional cost.
Not only does Care Plan take care of the necessary aftercare and eye health checks, but it also offers the following benefits:

  • Soft contact Lenses at up to 70% off our RRP
  • Discounted Contact Lens Solutions
  • 25% off complete spectacles (excluding sun spectacles)
  • 10% off non-prescription sunglasses (non-transferrable)
  • Contact lenses and solutions can automatically be delivered direct to your home or office address every 3 months for added convenience
  • Free replacement of lost or torn soft disposable contact lenses
  • Discount of £3 per month for children aged 18 or under and in full time education
  • For adult NHS patients, the value of the eye examination can be deducted from the monthly payment

For as little as £11.40 per month, you may become a member. We simply add the monthly aftercare payment of £11.40 to your discounted contact lenses, solutions and postage costs to give a monthly direct debit payment. A member of our team can write down all of your costs on one of our Care Plan Leaflets – please contact us if you would like to receive these details.

If you only wear your contact lenses occasionally, paying the Care Plan monthly fee enables you to purchase contact lenses and solutions as and when required, but at the highly discounted Care Plan prices.

If you do not wish to commit to spreading your costs into smaller monthly payments, we offer a Pay As You Go service. This is very simple, but does not offer the additional benefits of the Care Plan:

  • £90 for an annual contact lens check-up (including full Eye Examination every 2 years, or as necessary)
  • Any additional contact lens appointments throughout the year are charged at £45 per appointment.
  • Contact Lenses and Solutions at our standard price
  • No free replacement lost or torn contact lenses (unless found to be faulty by the manufacturer)
  • Pay £5.00 for contact lenses to be posted to home address
  • No discount on spectacles
  • NHS patients can use the value of the NHS eye examination towards the £90 annual check up fee (when appropriate)
