Spectacle Lens Advice
There are many different types and makes of lenses available and the choice can be baffling. As Independent Opticians, we are free to recommend the spectacle lens which is best suited to your requirements. Modern technology has produced many exciting new lens designs both for everyday wear and other more specific tasks such as VDU work. Lens materials have also advanced with the new generation of photochromic lenses reacting much more rapidly. There are also now many choices of high index lenses providing greatly improved cosmetic appearance by reducing lens thickness in higher prescriptions.
Where possible, John Harwood recommend and use Essilor lenses for their excellent quality. Essilor produce many types of lenses including Xperio, Transitions, Varilux, Crizal, Optifog and Drivewear. Our Fleet branch has the Visioffice spectacle dispensing system, which offers Eyecode Lenses that are produced by measuring the eye rotation centre and unique visual behaviour to make personalised lenses for our patients.
